Basicamente se trata de una iniciativa donde estan juntando dinero para licenciar series, y luego dubbearlas y subbearlas gratuitamente por fans.

La primera serie en cuestion es Hoshizora Kiseki, un OVA/ONA de un solo episodio, bastante lindo, producido por CoMixWave (5cm Per Second / Voices of a Distant Star).

El dinero total que necesitan para este primer proyecto es de $3500.

Cita:We here at New Voice Productions are committed to licensing and releasing DVDs with dubs and subs that are produced by fans for fans, but we license all of our shows. The problem is we are a new start-up company with little funding and need the fans to help us out to get started. We hope after getting our first title out that it will help us form business relationships with some of the other companies in Japan.

We already have one license in the works, our goal to fund this project is $3,500 USD. We have already entered a partnership with RightStuf International to do all of our DVD Production and Distribution.

Here is how the $3,500 will be split up:
$1,000 - Minimum Guarantee for the license (to CoMiXWave)
$1,000 - Dub Production (to New Voice Productions)
$1,500 - DVD Production/Distribution/Marketing (to RightStuf International)

DVDs will be priced at an MSRP of $9.95 for the 27 minute film.

We will also be doing VOD (online Streaming) in partnership with iTunes/Netflix/Youtube Rentals/Amazon and eventually on the PSN and XBox Marketyplace.

For our first release, we are kind of going all out to get people into our idea of by fans, for fans.
For the dub we will be holding an online audition and anyone is free to try out for the lead and minor roles. We will then get people set up to record their lines and will accept nothing but the best.

After we master the dub for Hoshizora Kiseki we then will be sending stuff over to RightStuf to be handled for DVD Production, Distribution and Marketing.

Hoshizora is produced by CoMixWave (5cm Per Second / Voices of a Distant Star)
and is a 27 minute ONA that was released online and for DVD in Japan.

Plot:
Kozue loves to stargaze and does so regularly. On a trip to view a meteorite, she happens to meet a boy named Ginga. He has a mysterious ability to discover more information about the stars, which he uses to help scientists with astronomical research. Unfortunately, his life is mostly dictated for him, and when carrying out missions, he must always wear a protective suit. Kozue helps Ginga to gradually take control of his life by encouraging him to make his own decisions.

We look forward to bringing more amazing anime to the US, but we can't do anything without fan-support. We hope to have a bright future ahead of us and we will do our best!

Quién puede ser tan estúpido por pagar por milagros que TAL VEZ O NO, DEPENDIENDO DE LA VOLUNTAD DE UN SER INCONFIRMABLE, puedan suceder?

Cómo se nota que tanta teoría te vuelve un incompetente para la práctica.

Te sorprendería como, sabiendo hablar y manejar las charlas, una persona puede volver a otras mucho más "dispuestas" hacia un objetivo.

La idea de estos es traer series que nadie mas traeria. Y el dvd este estaria saliendo 10 dolares. Fijandome en amazon, un dvd de ovas viejos ya, en este caso FLCL, sale ~40 dolares, y Voices of a distant star sale ~20. Como veras es BASTANTE barato comparando. (Y hay que recordar que en recien salidos, los dvds cuestan bastante mas).

Lo que me resulta curioso es el dubbing. Me intriga el modo del casting.

Me parece buen proyecto siempre y cuando se mantengan "limpios". Es algo asi como una... compañia indie de localizacion de anime.

Creo que la gracia es que algunas series no llegan o tardan mucho en licenciarse.

Mas alla de la gracia, por mas que hagan dvds a 10 dolares, van a hacer ganancia, a menos que sea una institucion sin fin de lucro me parece una hija de putada lo que estan haciendo.

Van a armar una empresa y qwieren qwe la gente les pague los costos?
